About Galesburg Electric/Industrial Supply, Inc.

In 1953, Hilding and Lucile Johnson envisioned owning a business that went beyond simply supplying materials to local & area residents, contractors, and municipalities. They felt a business should, also, stand behind the merchandise being sold and the services provided. Additionally, they believed that every employee should have a firm understanding of the products he/she would be selling, as well as having a keen insight of business related situations and the ability to utilize good, old-fashioned common sense.

Most importantly, the Johnson's believed, the main goal of every employee should be to supply complete customer satisfaction. With these principles in mind, Galesburg Electric/Industrial Supply Inc.(GEISI) was established. It's been this same level of commitment to the customer, which GEISI was founded on, that has allowed us to serve local & surrounding communities, while expanding the number of products and services we offer. Since GEISI began, it has been a family-run organization. Hilding and Lucile's son Craig, joined the Galesburg Electric team eight years after it was founded, and today, serves as both CEO and Chairman of the Board.

Their daughter, Barbara, also, joined the company and has gone from being involved in the accounting department to creating the first websites for, and being a fundamental part of, TanForLess.com (a division of Galesburg Electric). At GEISI, we strive to foster an environment where employees feel comfortable to express their ideas and opinions, where they are confident that the job they do is valued and integral to the success of Galesburg Electric, and where they'll enjoy working for many years. Long time employee, Don Gillenwater, who joined the business in 1957, was elected President of the company, in 1990, and continues to serve Galesburg Electric in this capacity. Many other employees--like Patty Williams, Larry Deford  and Jeff Frazier have been a part of the GEISI family for 20 years or more.

While many changes have taken place throughout the years, one thing remains the same--Customer Satisfaction is always the first priority at Galesburg Electric/Industrial Supply, Inc.!
