FireX 462 B - Smoke Alarm 9V Battery Powered

Description
The Firex 461, 462, 465, and 4651 smoke alarms are ionization 9V battery powered smoke alarms. These units have an 85 decibel horn, test switch, low battery signal, and a lighted power/alarm LED indicator (except 461); the LED flashes once per minute indicating it is receiving power. When in alarm, the LED flashes rapidly once per second. 461 Basic Protection 462 Blinking LED power-on indicator 465 False Alarm Control™ to quiet unwanted alarms 4651 Long Life 10 year battery and False Alarm Control™ These Firex smoke alarms should be placed in single-family households or in each individual living unit of multiple-family buildings. All smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years.

Why Install a Firex DC ionization Smoke Alarm?
Firex DC ionization smoke alarms provide contractors and homeowners with the reliable and trouble-free performance they expect from Firex…the market leader in fire safety products. With installer-focused innovations such as “positive snap” battery connection to ensure proper battery installation, separate mounting bracket, and battery “lockout” to prevent detector from being mounted without a battery, Firex DC ionization smoke alarms have earned their reputation as the most preferred smoke alarms among contractors.
Architectural Specifications
The smoke alarm shall be a Styleline design™ (1-1/8” high, 4” wide), powered by a 9 V DC, battery power source and a dual ionization sensing chamber and sealed housing with a separate metal mounting bracket. Item 465 and 4651 shall have a False Alarm Control™ feature which desensitizes the alarm for 15 minutes. The alarm shall produce two short chirps approximately 2 seconds apart at the conclusion of the desensitized period. Nominal sensitivity shall be measured by U.L. at obs. 1.1 ± 0.47%/ft. and by U.L.C. at 1.1%. Temperature operating range shall be between 40Þ and 100ÞF (4Þ-38ÞC); humidity range between 10%-93% relative humidity; 100% solid state alarm circuits over an input range of 7-10 V DC. A power-on indicator shall be a built-in light emitting diode which “blinks” once per minute in the standby condition (except item 461) and for items 465 and 4651 “blinks” once every 10 seconds in the desensitized condition. A 30 day low battery signal shall be included for added safety. The test switch shall electronically activate the chamber to simulate smoke and check for proper operation. The electronic horn shall have a level of 85 decibels at 10 feet. The 461, 462, 465, and 4651 shall meet the requirements of U.L. Standard 217 and the 461(C), 462(C), 465(C) shall meet the requirements of U.L.C. Standard S531.
